About:
Professor Friedrich Becker (1922–1997) is an internationally renowned goldsmith, designer of kinetic objects, and one of the most influential artists in jewelry design in the second half of the 20th century. His works have been exhibited and collected worldwide, receiving international awards. The Gesellschaft für Goldschmiedekunst e.V. (Society for Goldsmithing) commemorates him through the Friedrich Becker Prize, donated by Hildegard Becker (1928–2018), recalling his personality and works. In keeping with his spirit, the prize honors the next generation of outstanding designers of jewelry, utensils and objects.
